Good supplies prevent bad moving days
Most packing problems are supply problems: boxes that crush under weight, tape that gives up halfway to the truck, "mattress protection" that turns out to be a fitted sheet. The right materials cost a little and save a lot — in broken dishes alone.
What to get
Small boxes for heavy things (books, dishes), medium boxes for most rooms, large boxes only for light bulky items like pillows and linens. Real packing paper — not newspaper — for wrapping dishes. Dish boxes with dividers for the kitchen, wardrobe boxes so clothes stay on hangers, mattress bags for every mattress, and more tape than you think you need. Bubble wrap for art and mirrors.
How many boxes?
As a rough starting point, a one-bedroom apartment usually needs 20 to 30 boxes; a three-bedroom house often needs 60 or more, plus specialty boxes. Walk through your home room by room and count what is actually there — closets and garages always hold more than they appear to. When in doubt, get extra: running out of boxes mid-pack is how things end up in garbage bags.
Let us bring them
If we are doing your move, we can deliver supplies ahead of packing day so you are not hunting for boxes across three stores. And if you would rather skip packing entirely, our packing service brings everything and does the whole job.
How It Works
Boxes. Small, medium, large, extra-large, wardrobe, dish packs, and mirror boxes. Professional-grade, not grocery store castoffs. They stack properly and protect properly.
Protection. Bubble wrap, packing paper, foam pouches, and stretch wrap. Mattress bags in every size. Furniture blankets for sale or rent.
Tape and tools. Heavy-duty packing tape, tape guns, box cutters, and markers. The right tools make packing twice as fast.
Specialty. TV boxes, art boxes, and custom crating materials. Anything unusual, we can pack it.
Delivery. We deliver supplies to your door in Waldorf and surrounding areas. Order by phone and they arrive before your packing weekend.
Buyback. Unused boxes in good condition can be returned. We buy back what you do not use.
Why Professional Supplies Matter
Most packing failures are supply failures. Boxes that crush, tape that gives way, insufficient padding — these cause more damage than bad handling. Professional supplies cost slightly more than scrounged boxes and prevent most damage.
We sell the same materials our crews use. If it is good enough for our packers, it is good enough for your DIY pack. And if you decide halfway through that packing is miserable, our crew can take over.
Do not underestimate tape. Cheap tape fails, and failed tape means burst boxes. Our heavy-duty packing tape is commercial grade — it sticks in humidity and holds under weight. Buy the good tape. It is the cheapest insurance in the whole move.
Box selection matters too. Book boxes for books (small and strong), large boxes for linens (light and bulky), and dish packs for kitchenware. Using the right box for the contents prevents crushing and makes stacking safe.
We also sell moving blankets. Professional-grade quilted blankets protect furniture better than old comforters. They are reusable for future moves or as workshop protection.
Our supply shop stocks mattress bags in all sizes. A ten-dollar mattress bag protects a thousand-dollar mattress from dirt, moisture, and damage. It is the best value in the whole store.
We also stock specialty items: mattress bags, TV boxes, and art crates. Tell us what is unusual in your home and we recommend the right protection. The supply shop exists to prevent damage, not just to sell boxes.
Order online or by phone for delivery. We deliver throughout Waldorf and Charles County, usually within 24 hours. Your packing weekend starts with supplies on the doorstep, not a trip to the store.
