Furniture is the hard part of every move
Boxes are simple. Furniture is where moves get interesting: the sleeper sofa that weighs as much as a piano, the solid-wood dresser with drawers that slide open mid-carry, the dining table that will not fit through the doorway assembled. Moving furniture well is a skill — angles, leverage, and knowing when to take something apart instead of forcing it.
Single pieces and room rearranges
You do not need a full move to need a mover. We move single pieces all the time: a couch from the store to your living room, a bedroom set from one room to another, a treadmill down to the basement. If you bought furniture that offers "threshold delivery" and left it in your driveway, we will carry it inside and set it where you want it.
How we protect it
Every piece gets wrapped in moving blankets and shrink wrap before it leaves the room. Corners get extra padding. Doorways and stair rails get protected before the first carry. At the new place, we place furniture where you want it — not just inside the front door — and take the wrapping with us when we leave.
How It Works
Step 1 — The inventory. Tell us what is moving: the sectional, the bedroom sets, the dining table, the piano. We size the crew and truck accordingly.
Step 2 — Protection. Every piece gets wrapped in moving blankets and secured with bands. Corners get extra padding. Upholstery gets plastic wrap against dirt and moisture.
Step 3 — Careful carrying. Our crews are trained in proper lifting and maneuvering. Tight doorways, stairs, and corners are navigated without wall damage.
Step 4 — Transport. Furniture gets loaded strategically — heavy pieces low and secured, fragile items protected. Nothing shifts in transit.
Step 5 — Placement. At the destination, every piece goes exactly where you want it. We do not just dump in the living room — we place, level, and arrange.
Step 6 — Reassembly. Anything we disassembled gets put back together. Beds, tables, and sectionals are functional before we leave.
Furniture Is What We Do
Some moves are just furniture — rearranging between rooms, moving a few pieces to storage, delivering a purchase. We handle single-item moves with the same care as full households. No job is too small.
Waldorf homes often have the heavy Southern Maryland furniture: solid wood dining sets, sleigh beds, and entertainment centers. Our crews are equipped for the weight. Shoulder dollies, furniture sliders, and stair-climbing techniques for the really heavy pieces.
Sleeper sofas are the heavyweight champions of furniture moving. They are awkward, heavy, and full of mechanisms that catch on doorways. Our crews have moved hundreds. We know the angles, the disassembly tricks, and how to protect both the sofa and your walls.
We also handle the odd pieces: pool tables (slate requires specialists we coordinate), hot tubs (drained and prepped), and playground equipment. If it is big and awkward, we have probably moved it.
We also do furniture assembly. New purchases from IKEA, Wayfair, or local stores — our crews assemble quickly and correctly. The instructions make sense to people who do this daily.
Donation pickup is another service. That old sofa does not have to go to the landfill. We deliver usable furniture to local charities and provide the donation receipt for your taxes.
We photograph furniture condition before wrapping. This protects both of us — you have proof of pre-move condition, and we have a baseline. It takes two minutes per piece and prevents all disputes.
